Marco Frey

Marco Frey, Full Professor of Economics and Business Management, coordinates the Sustainability Research Group (SuM) and directs the Master in Environmental Management and Control: circular economy and efficient resource management at the Scuola Universitaria Superiore Sant’Anna di Pisa. He is also a lecturer at the IUSS in Pavia and holds courses on sustainability issues at the Catholic University of Milan and Luiss in Rome.
He graduated in Economic and Social Sciences from Bocconi University in Milan in 1986 and was the winner of the Eisenhower Exchange Fellowship in 2000.
He is president of the Global Compact Network Italia, an organization of the United Nations, and of Cittadinanzattiva, a non-profit organization that promotes civic participation and the protection of citizens’ rights. He is also Chairman of the Scientific Committee of Symbola, a foundation for Italian qualities, Member of the Board of Directors of the Fondazione Housing Sociale and Member of the Executive Committee of the Touring Club Italiano.
Marco Frey’s main areas of research, focused on the objective of merging managerial and technical skills for the promotion of sustainability principles among public and private subjects, are: circular economy and efficient management of resources, environmental management and corporate sustainability.
