Spartaco Albertarelli

Autore di giochi / Giornalista

I was born in 1963 in Milan, but my origines are from Turin, and I have dedicated my whole life to games, turning an ancient youthful passion into my main work activity. I entered the world of gaming almost by chance, but, as they say, from the “main door”, quickly becoming responsible for the development of the line of board games of Editrice Giochi, the most important Italian company in the industry. From Dungeons & Dragons to Monopoli, from RisiKo! to Visual Game, there is hardly any genre that has not seen me personally involved in the design or editing. Thanks to the good fortune of having always worked with the leading company in the sector, I can say without false modesty that I have accumulated a unique experience, also helped by the fact that I could work for years with a very special person, to whom I owe a lot and that I miss a lot.

After 10 years as D&D’s editorial manager, I gained a certain popularity thanks to Risiko!, of which I designed all the evolutions published in Italy from 1987 to the present day, from the box containing the first tournament rules to SPQRisiKo and Risiko! Challenge. In my career I have published more than 130 games, many translated into several languages, first of all Kaleidos, which in 1995 entered the final list of the Spiel des Jahres. If you are interested in learning more about me, my work, what I’ve done so far and find out why I’ve always had “the game in my head”, you can follow my FB page.
