Aldo Colonetti

Filosofo-Politecnico di Milano



Philosopher, he studied with Enzo Paci and Gillo Dorfles, historian and theorist of art, design and architecture. From 1985 to 2013 he was scientific director of IED (European Institute of Design), from 2014 he was a professor of renown at Politecnico di Milano, Faculty of Design. Director of the magazine Ottagono (1991-2014), he was a member of the Scientific Committee of La Triennale di Milano (2002-2006); of the Presidential Committee of ADI (1991-1992; 1998-2002); of the National Council of Design-Ministry of Culture (2008-2011). In 2000 he received, for cultural merits, the title of Member of British Empire from Queen Elizabeth. Author of essays, curator of exhibitions and cultural initiatives in Italy and abroad; the latest in chronological order: La logica dell’approssimazione, nell’arte e nella vita (with Gillo Dorfles), XXI Triennale di Milano 2016, Giò Ponti, l’infinito blù, Milano 2017. He collaborates with the “Corriere della Sera”; since 2004 he has been a member of the Advisor Board of the “3M Foundation”, of the Gualtiero Marchesi Foundation and of the Accademia del Panino Italiano. From 2013, member of the Board of Directors of the Ragghianti Foundation, Lucca; from 2015, member of the Board of Directors of the Henraux Foundation.
